The client was looking to extend their converted former stable block by adding a garden room and additional bedroom. The extension is clad in oak boarding with glass separating the new from the old. At first floor level there is a bridge link to the bedroom with views into the hall below.
The “orangery” style extension combines large glazed openings with a central rooflight to create the feeling of light and openness that you get with a conservatory combined with heavily insulated walls and roof to allow the room to be used in the depths of winter.
The client was looking to add additional bedrooms to their house. We designed the extension to complement the original house and added a small but useful "room in the roof" to act as a playroom for their children. This room was accessed from the old landing window which was knocked through to form a doorway.
Large semi-detached house that is need of modernization. Still at concept stage the plan is to create a large open plan living, dining and kitchen with more private spaces at the front. Remodeling of the first floor to create more contemporary bedroom spaces.
The existing house was a mid-terrace Edwardian with a narrow passageway into the rear garden. This scheme added not only a ground floor utility room but a new walk-in wardrobe on the first floor complete with rooflight.
The scheme added a wrap around extension complete with new staircase that allowed the existing layout to be adjusted to flow better. The existing garage was replaced with a sunroom overlooking the rear garden.
Our client purchased an existing run down farmhouse and associated barns with the view to create a small residential development. The design had to be sympathetic to the original (non listed) buildings but still create modern style living spaces.
A small developer took possession of a large sprawling house which had been neglected for years. The decision was made to split the long main house (made up of several extensions and conversions over many decades) into separate dwellings & build new houses in the grounds.
The brief was to create a new large dining room on the upper terrace level overlooking the large landscaped gardens. The lower level was to house offices and other staff spaces.
